FlexRide driving dynamics.
The FlexRide electronic chassis control system reacts instantly to changing conditions and continuously adapts to your driving style. Continuous Damping Control adjusts the damper settings in real time. Four-channel ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Traction Control, and ESP®Plus all work together to provide fantastic driving dynamics.
FlexRide switches.
With the FlexRide switches, you can change the new Astra’s driving dynamics at the touch of a button. Choose between the three operating modes of ‘Sport’, ‘Tour’ and ‘Normal’ – each optimised for different driving scenarios, from taut sporting excitement to relaxed long-distance cruising, with uncompromised safety and stability.
The Watt's Link for improved handling.
The all-new Vauxhall Astra has a wider track with improved stability, safety and road-worthiness. The entire chassis has been redesigned and improved. The Compound Crank with Watt’s link rear suspension delivers improved lateral control and stability – which, simply put, makes driving more fun and safer.
Lean and clean powertrains.
The new Astra engines prove it’s possible to balance lively performance with fuel efficiency and low emissions. Using leading technology, the leaner and greener all-new Vauxhall Astra ECOTEC® engines deliver increased performance and remarkably low fuel consumption. The powertrain line-up features five petrol and four diesel engines ranging from 87PS to 180PS. All engines meet the Euro 5 emission standards. The ecoFLEX model with CO2 emissions of only 109 g/km will be added to the range, with projected availability in Spring 2010.
